Hi I'm Jess, Secondary ITT Lead Mentor.

I trained to be a Secondary teacher in London at Central School of Speech and Drama and secured my first job in my placement school in Bedfordshire. I spent seven happy years there and then moved to Leicester when I met my husband. I was excited to move into SEND education shortly after that and spent 12 years in a Special school in the city, as a teacher and then as Vice Principal in charge of Teaching and Learning. It was a lovely community there and I learned a huge amount.

 

I first worked with trainee teachers in Bedfordshire as a mentor and then as SCITT subject lead and I am delighted to be returning to it. It is so important that we have the very best teachers for our children and that starts with the quality of the training and support  they receive.
